Is your family ready for an out-of-this-world adventure? Journey through space when Drake Planetarium lands at Georgetown Library (approximately 30-minutes per session). This immersive cosmic experience was sponsored in whole or in part by a Libraries Accelerating Learning grant through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.   

Attention penguin lovers! A second session has been added (1:00pm and 2:30pm) with a limit of 125 people per session. So let’s flip for penguins when Newport Aquarium’s WAVE Foundation rolls into Georgetown. A live African penguin, and his handlers, will take center stage at the historic Gaslight Theater located at 110 E. State Street, Georgetown, Ohio. So pick your session; march over and dive into learning about penguin adaptations. From 1:30pm – 2:30pm enjoy free hotdogs and soft drinks provided by The Georgetown Police Department.

“Snakes Alive” slithersss into Georgetown Library on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 5:30pm. Herpetologist Rick Teepen presents an unforgettable hands-on experience as attendees get to see and touch some fascinating reptiles! This fun family program was sponsored in whole or in part by a Libraries Accelerating Learning grant through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

Learn how to use the sun's energy to create a scientific treat. Engineer a solar oven by using a cardboard box and a few household items; add graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate then simply let the sun ray’s heat the ingredients to create an ooey, gooey dessert. All materials will be provided. This fun family program was sponsored in whole or in part by a Libraries Accelerating Learning grant through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. 

Teens are invited to participate in a Bob Ross painting class presented by local artist and Certified Ross Instructor, Kevin Miller, at Georgetown Library. This event is free and all materials are provided. This program is funded in whole or in part by a grant from the Ohio Arts Council. Space is limited so call 937-378-3197 to register.

Due to a twist of plans this event has been rescheduled for tonight, so drop in to the historic Gaslight Theater to watch the Madcap Puppets perform a beautiful adaptation of enchanted classic “The Wonderful World of Oz”. People of all ages will delight in the journey down the yellow brick road with Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man. Come see the show!
